Bhangra is a traditional Indian dance that originated from Punjab (Northern India) that combines the folk music with western pop. It's a highly energetic dance that involves a lot of jumping and wide arm/leg movement.

This group celebrates the Chinese culture through both traditional and modern dances. Chinese traditional explores the art of the Chinese fan dance that was first introduced during the Han dynasty and has been a part of the Chinese culture for over 2,000 years. Chinese traditional also puts a heavy emphasis on the gracefulness of the dancers with the use of bright red fans for the girls while the guys show toughness and more Kung Fu aspects with black fans. Chinese modern demonstrates a style of dancing that also appreciates new and current aspects of the Chinese culture through songs that are very powerful and upbeat produced by famous Chinese artists. Modern dances such as Chinese modern allows dancers to fully express the emotion of the music while they pop and dance.
Chinese Yoyo

Basically the Big Daddy of the American Yoyo: It was invented during the Ming dynasty; roughly 1386–1644. It consists of two equally sized plastic cups connected with a bearing axle, An alternating lifting and dropping motion using two sticks, each held in one hand, keeps the yo-yo spinning on a string tied between the sticks or just physics it. Then, you do totally rad tricks with it. For example, walking the dog.

Filipino

The dances of Filipino traditional and modern come from the Philippine country located on the Pacific Ring of Fire in Asia. Traditional dances vary from island to island but dances that have been used in the showcase are as follows. Tinikling, a Spanish influence bamboo stick dance where dancers dance in between the sticks and avoid their ankles being hit. Maglalatik, a mock war dance where men wear coconut shells and slap them to a rhythm. Sayaw sa Bangko, a dance from the Pangasinan province in which dancers jump on and off a bench with a partner. Many of the traditional dances require a prop and show great skills.

Korean Modern (KMOD)

Korean Modern (KMOD) originates from South Korea. Also known as KPOP, this musical style is used to characterized all the modern music in South Korea (consisting of pop, dance, electropop, hip-hop, and R&B) and has become a worldwide phenomenon over the last few years. KMOD has drawn foreign elements into their music scene and has sent a “Korean Wave” seen in India, Latin America, Middle East, and North America. The KMOD style is characterized by sharp, “point” choreography. Most of Asian fashion industries are significantly influenced by major KPOP groups, as well.

The Martial Arts team infuses multiple fighting styles from various countries to create choreographed fight scenes and demonstrations. Creativity and teamwork are essential aspects as each member works together in order to implement their own skills and ideas. No experience is required to be on the team.
Polynesian

Polynesian, formerly known as Hawaiian, is a group which combines dances from different pacific islands all over Polynesia including Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa, and many more. The dance style originated as an accompaniment to the oral storytelling traditions of those islands, conveying the literal meaning of a tale. Modern Polynesian dance still tells stories through movement, but those narratives can be a bit more abstract, allowing audiences to focus on the beauty of the dances themselves. In this group, dancers must learn to move their hips in a circular motion with bent knees and flowing arm movements.
Raas

Raas is the traditional folk dance form of Gujarat & Rajasthan India, and is associated with scenes of Holi, and lila of Krishna and Radha at Vrindavan. Along with Garba, it is the featured dance of Navratri evenings in Western India. In this highly energetic dance, dancers bobble their heads, twirl brightly colored sticks, called dandiyas, and move around the stage with quick, bouncing, footwork.
